Did you know that 8mm tapes were first introduced by Eastman Kodak in 1932 as an economical alternative to 16mm. 8mm was primarily used as a medium for photographing home movies and gained wide acceptance as an entertainment medium until after WWII.
By 1965, Kodak had come up with super 8mm tape that have views an approximately 25% larger image area. However, by 1976 VHS Tapes were launched became the standard by 1990. Read more
